How I help…
Take things off your plate: We focus on what matters most
and let go of what doesn’t.Build capacity: Not by adding more work—
but by using your strengths more intentionally.Create connection: Across teams, roles, and communities—
so people feel seen and engaged.Improve performance: By aligning purpose, people, and priorities.
That looks like…
Highly tailored engagements (never one-size-fits-all)
Practical strategies rooted in real people and real constraints
Space for reflection, clarity, and forward momentum
I bring a strengths-based approach to every engagement—
using them as tools, not labels.
My Journey…
I founded MOKA Partners in 2021 to support nonprofit organizations through project management, program design and delivery, community engagement and leadership/board development training.
Previously, I spent 19 years with the Arts & Science Council of Charlotte-Mecklenburg (ASC), leading grants, education and public art teams and managed capacity building, board development, planning and research initiatives. I have also led ASC’s Cultural Leadership Training (CLT) program since 2005, facilitating training, coaching and placement for 500+ community members representing more than 200 different employers on over 50 non-profit boards
Now a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, I was introduced to the CliftonStrengths framework more than 15 years ago and has always loved its accessibility, its focus on what each of us does best, and how this self and shared awareness (and vocabulary!) can boost our growth, performance, wellbeing and capacity for powerful partnerships in team settings.
Nationally, I serve on the Education Committee for Philanos and on the Nonprofit Strategy Pathway Committee for Americans for the Arts’ AFTACON 2026. In Charlotte, I am a past board member of Women’s Impact Fund, where she led the redesign of WIF’s Spark Awards for Rest & Renewal, and Community Building Initiative.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in American History from Washington and Lee University and a Masters of Mass Communication degree from the University of South Carolina. In 2024, I earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Board Consulting (CNBC) from BoardSource.
